Unlocking your child's potential
Support your child's communication
Our speech-language services are flexible and expertly designed to help your child communicate clearly and effectively, no matter what their modality. From Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems, to articulation and general language development, your child will thrive with the integrated SLP services available at UP.
One on One sessions with an SLP or SLP-A
Speech-Language Therapy sessions are individual (1:1) or small group sessions, where your child works directly with a speech-language pathologist (SLP) or speech-language pathologist-assistant (SLP-A) to address key skills in the areas of speech and communication.
SLP sessions can be offered weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) can be a fantastic tool for children who have difficulty expressing themselves using spoken language. UP partners with Chelsey Chichak of Mainland Speech and Hearing to provide expert support to our clients who require a different approach to expressive communication.
UP can support families through the AAC process. In addition, many of our staff are already trained in using AAC approaches and familiar with AAC systems and software, which means your child can get started right away in learning to communicate effectively.
Included in our in-clinic intervention program!
Speech-Language consultation services are included in our in-clinic early intervention program.
Speech-language consultation involves the SLP joining the child’s Behaviour Analyst and/or Case Manager during regular sessions to provide objective and strategy recommendation to your clinical team. Behaviour Interventionists then integrate these suggestions into each and every session, providing a lot of practice for your child.
This consultation model is a cost-effective way to embed Speech-Language therapy strategies into your child’s regular sessions at UP Clinic.
